Mullein is a leafy, fuzzy plant that grows in a rosette shape with a shoot emerging from the middle that produces small, densely grouped, yellow flowers. The flannel-like leaves are harvested in the second year.
Mullein leaf has a long history of use in herbal medicine, mostly for the treatment of respiratory ailments such as coughs, hoarseness, colds, earaches, flu symptoms, allergies, and sore throat. Mullein can also be used topically to soothe wounds, burns, and irritated skin.
Raspberry leaves are gathered in the spring just before the plant flowers as they contain the highest antioxidant content. They are then dried and cut.
In herbal medicine, raspberry leaf is seen to be very beneficial for the female reproductive system. It is used externally to soothe sunburn, eczema, and rashes. It can be used by swishing in the mouth to alleviate symptoms of gingivitis or gum disease.
We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using any herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
