Are You Carrying Your Weight?
As you look around, it's easy to notice the frustration, setbacks, and the relentless grind that many people are caught up in. Yet, you can also spot individuals who are thriving, embracing life's challenges and joys. So, how are you feeling today? It's a genuinely concerning question, and if you find yourself resonating with the first group, I hope this blog helps you break free from that cycle.
Questions That Propel Transformation
I enjoy asking myself questions because it keeps me from stagnating in challenging situations. A few weeks ago, I wrote in my journal and asked, "Ceret, how do you feel?" My response surprised me: "Free, happy, and stuck." I relished the feeling of being free from fibroids, and happiness is a constant companion for me. However, I felt stuck, with business, finances, and creative ideas not flowing as I'd hoped. I'm usually someone who can conjure ideas seemingly out of thin air.
I'm sharing this with you as a timestamp for myself, but also out of love for you. You're not alone in this journey. Today, my answer to that question is "Grateful, Joyful, and Ready!" It's okay for your answers to change from day to day. I want to share how I broke free from that stagnant energy.
Unearthing the Weight We Carry
After I wrote "Stuck" in my journal, I found myself in tears, genuinely puzzled about what I had done wrong to end up in that distressing state. As I prayed and surrendered my burdens to God, I had a revelation. I had been carrying the weight of others for far too long. I had taken on problems that weren't mine to solve, dated individuals who didn't align with my goals, accepted jobs and contracts solely for the money, and neglected intentional daily connection with God. Yes, I was progressing, but I was constantly on the move without a clear purpose.
The Divine Presence in Business
I understand that this is a business blog, and you'll hear a lot about God. The reason is simple: He is the CEO and partner in everything I do. I mention this because it's my truth and a fundamental part of my journey.
So, what led to my transformation, you might ask? My mindset. I recognized that my mind was fertile ground, capable of producing something extraordinary or something heavy. Those tiny seeds of doubt, fear, and negativity can drastically alter the course of your life or your current season.
The Power of Clarity
I realized I lacked clarity about who I was and what I truly wanted. Without clarity, you invite people and circumstances into your life that don't align with your vision and purpose.
I also lacked discipline in both my personal and business life. I had been going with the flow for far too long without a clear plan. I was still operating based on my 2019 vision and plans, even though I had achieved those goals and needed a fresh start.
By accepting the bare minimum and not holding people and situations to a higher standard, I had diminished my own standards. Reflect on those who may have owed you money, cheated on you, or hurt you because you allowed them into your life. Did they truly meet your standards, or did you have any standards in place?
I came to understand the immense power of clarity. Our actions would be radically different if we could unlock this power.
Raising Your Standard of Life
So, my challenge for you today is to release that weight because it's no longer yours to bear. Release it by checking in and asking yourself, "How do I feel?" Get clear on who you are and what you have to offer. Define your ultimate life goals, what you want to wake up and do every day, and how you'll serve others beyond your loved ones. These are a few questions to help you gain clarity.
Become disciplined in your approach to your mind, body, and soul. What are you willing to do daily to change your life? If you claim you don't have time, you're already in trouble.
Nourish your mind daily. Our minds are fertile grounds, and this isn't limited to positive thoughts. Be mindful of the content you consume; feed your mind with the image of who you aspire to be and what you hope to receive.
Taking these steps will automatically raise your standard of life. It will affect the food you eat, the people you give your attention to, and how you lead your life.
